  • Be able to select and use virtual test instruments and software to make measurements and analyse measurement data.

Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis of Engineering Systems
  • Know the health and safety requirements relevant to monitoring and fault diagnosis of engineering systems
  • Know about system monitoring and reliability
  • Be able to use monitoring and test equipment
  • Be able to carry out fault diagnosis on engineering systems

Industrial Process Measurement
  • Know about industrial transducer systems and their applications
  • Know about the operation and application of signal processing systems
  • Be able to examine a range of signal transmission and recording systems
  • Be able to select and use a range of equipment to test and calibrate instruments on process plant.

Industrial Plant and Process Control
  • Understand the characteristics of process control systems
  • Know about common modes of control and their effect on control system performance
  • Be able to apply tuning methods to three-term controllers to improve control system performance
  • Understand hierarchical and advanced process control systems.

Feb 15 - Mar 28, 2020
Electrical Installation
  • Be able to interpret lighting and power circuits diagrams
  • Understand the methods used to protect circuits
  • Be able to install and test lighting and power circuits
  • Know the non-statutory and statutory regulations relating to the provision of an electrical installation

Apr 4 - May 30, 2020
Installing and Commissioning Engineering Equipment
  • Know how to install and commission mechanical equipment
  • Be able to install and commission electrical/electronic equipment
  • Know how to install and commission equipment used on an engineered system
  • Know how to hand over an installation after commissioning an engineered system

Entry Requirements:
4 CXC passes including Mathematics or equivalent; or Level 2 Vocational (NVQJ)qualification in electrical/mechanical/electronics. Individuals with relevant knowledge and work experience may also apply
