Course Overview

The awareness of the need to promote positive mental health and well-being has become an important issue within today’s society. Therefore, the need for an understanding of mental health issues is required by a broad range of individuals who in the course of their work come into contact with those who suffer from mental health issues. The Level 3 Diploma in Mental Health has been developed to enable learners to be able to support those with mental health issues.

Objectives

The objectives of the qualification are to enable learners to understand:

how to support an individual with mental illness
the role of the mental health worker
factors impacting on mental health and well-being
Policy, Standards and Legislation in Mental Health

Delivery and Assessment

The qualification is delivered via Instructor-Led live online presentations. There are no exams. Assessment is by practical assignments.

Requirements to take this Programme:

Relevant Level 2 diploma in recognised qualification
Sector experience for at least three years (Learners must be academically fit to write course work at Level 3. A basic knowledge of computers would also be beneficial)
