Painting and Decorating

Certificate

Moving the needle on workforce readiness

Course Overview

Painting and decorating is one of the oldest skill sets within the construction industry. Paint is applied to protect surfaces exposed to the weather, to provide a ‘colour code’ in industrial settings and to produce hygienic surfaces that are easy to clean. Decorating is the final stage in making a building comfortable and attractive, and the ability to produce a quality paint finish is a valuable skill. This means that there will always be employment for people with appropriate skills in painting and decorating.
This 8-week course is perfect for beginners and professionals looking to build or refine their painting and decorating skills. You’ll learn about different paint types, surface preparation, and application techniques using brushes, rollers, and spray-guns. The course also covers safety practices and solving common painting problems, ensuring you can complete any project with confidence. Practical assessments and real-world projects will help solidify your new skills.
