Programmable Logic Controllers

Moving the needle on workforce readiness

Course Overview

There is a wide variety of PLCs available and range of uses. In this course learners will be introduced to real work-based applications of PLC technology. They will understand the use and applications of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), the hardware and software that makes up a PLC and the interaction needed between the component parts. Learners will develop their ability to use programming techniques to produce programs for modern PLCs. They will also gain an understanding of the different types of communication media used to link larger numbers of PLCs together, the networking architecture used and the associated standards and protocols.
